Cemetery Operations Coordinator
Location: SSMP
Schedule: M-F 8:00am – 4:30pm
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $25.25 per hour
SSMP is seeking a highly organized and compassionate Cemetery Operations Coordinator to join our team. This vital role ensures seamless cemetery operations and exceptional service for the families we serve by managing the delicate balance of scheduling, documentation, and on-site coordination.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Operations Coordination: Schedule and document interments, entombments, and inurnments; coordinate monument installations and verify placement.
- Records & Compliance: Maintain accurate deeds, burial permits, and maps; ensure full compliance with IDFPR cemetery regulations.
- Administrative Support: Process billing, contracts, and payments; manage inventory of plots, crypts, and niches; maintain cemetery price books and monthly care reports.
- Family Services: Respond to inquiries with empathy and discretion; support pre-need and at-need arrangements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with grounds and maintenance teams to ensure site readiness; provide notary services and support sales staff as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a cemetery, funeral home, or related administrative role preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Professional communication skills and a compassionate, discreet demeanor.
- Working knowledge of cemetery regulations or the ability to quickly learn and maintain compliance.
Part Time Seasonal Grounds Worker
Location: Sunset Memorial Park
Schedule: Mon–Wed: 7:00am – 3:30pm
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $18.00 per hour
Sunset Memorial Park is seeking a dedicated Seasonal Grounds Worker to maintain our beautiful cemetery grounds. This role is primarily focused on mowing and weed trimming to ensure a peaceful and well-kept environment for our families.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Safely operate riding and push lawn mowers.
- Safely operate weed trimmers and various landscape equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as required, including filling graves and general landscaping.
- Maintain manual dexterity and physical stamina while working in outside elements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.

IT Support Specialist

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, detailoriented IT Support Specialist to support the daily technology operations of our organization at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving computer systems, networks, and software across the organization. The ideal candidate is a problemsolver with strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering highquality support to end users.
This is a full-time position. Expected hours are 8:00a – 4:30p Monday – Friday. Except for “on-call” hours and scheduled after hours, as needed, scheduled by supervisor.
Essential Functions

1. Helpdesk Support
- Respond promptly to incoming support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to computers, networks, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.
- Create, modify, and manage user accounts and permissions across various systems.
- Install, configure, and deploy workstations, laptops, and related equipment.
- Provide basic training and guidance to users on hardware, software, and best practices.

2. Network & Server Support
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of network connectivity issues.
- Assist with network expansion projects, including running cable, mounting hardware, and configuring equipment.
- Support the maintenance of server-grade hardware and virtualized environments.
- Assist with data backup processes, disaster recovery planning, and documentation.
- Monitor system performance and report issues proactively.

3. Systems Support
- Install and update software applications and security patches.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and supplies.
- Follow cybersecurity best practices and assist in enforcing security policies.
- Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.

Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Funeral Director
Location:: Sunset Funeral Homes
Schedule:: Mon-Fri: 8:00 – 4:30pm
FLSA Status:: Non-Exempt
Salary:: $26.00 – $27.79 per hour
Provide end of life and continuing care to families of Sunset Funeral Homes.
MAJOR DUTIES
• Assist families in making funeral arrangements and decisions. Including, but not limited to:
1. Composing and sending obituaries for publication.
2. Making prompt and proper contacts in preparation of services.
3. Coordinating clergy and fraternal/military organizations.
4. Coordinating and confirming involvement of third-party vendors.
• Maintain a place in a 24-hour on-call transfer schedule.
• Provide transfer services to families.
• Provide embalming and other preparatory care for the deceased.
• Prepare, set, and direct a variety of funeral and memorial services.
• Coordinate and monitor visitations and memorial gatherings.
• Prepare individuals for cremation and operate crematory according to regulation.
• Prepare and file all necessary legal paperwork.
• Comply with OSHA standards for a safe workplace environment.
MINOR DUTIES
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills to supervise staff and appropriately speak to Sunset families.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Knowledge and ability to effectively use a computer and telephone system.
• Proficient with various computer and software programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and standards.
MACHINES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
• Embalming machines and instruments.
• Crematory equipment including a retort and processor.
• Body lift, either manual hydraulic or automatic winch based.
• Basic office equipment including computer, scanner, telephone, fax machine, laminator and copy machine.
• Funeral vehicles including hearse and processional vehicles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be able to stand, walk, sit, lift over 60 lbs. and pull/slide over 100 lbs., carry, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, talk, hear, and exhibit finger dexterity.
* Must have good depth perception in order to judge distance and special relationships, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more, an excellent field of vision, (can see up, down, left, or right) and the ability to distinguish colors.
EDUCATION
Must have a degree from an accredited Mortuary Science Institute.
Must have an Illinois or Indiana State Funeral Director and Embalming License with the ability to reciprocate to the other state.
